Active regulatory engagement

Since its inception in 2006, The Regulator has continued to evolve best practice and has shifted its focus between funding, covenant, cash, lighter touch regulation and more recently, tougher and more vocal regulation. As The Regulator continues to evolve and set out more prescriptive expectations, understanding these expectations and keeping close to the people at The Regulator will become more important for Trustees.

The Regulator has been very active in relation to cash funding discussion, corporate transactions, schemes with relatively risky investment strategies, schemes that have the weakest sponsors, those which are very large and pose serious risks to the PPF, and those without professional trustees.

20-20 Trustees are regularly called in to deal with all of these types of situations and therefore we know key senior stakeholders at The Regulator and have worked with a number of their case workers.
