Role Purpose
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic candidate to join us as a Business Development Consultant (BDC) in the Business Development Team based in (London /Sheffield/ Manchester). This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced, expanding benefits consultancy as part of a small but growing team.

With a focus on helping secure new corporate clients the role requires someone who has experience of selling B2B and has strong commercial and sales acumen. You will be responsible for working with the marketing and Business Development Team to develop opportunities, which you will be responsible for following through to completion, whilst contributing to the wider employee benefits proposition.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop, drive and deliver against your own strategic plan to build new business prospects in order to hit target
• Gather market and customer information from meetings that you will attend with corporate prospects sharing insights and intelligence in order to maximise opportunities
• As appropriate make sales calls to supplement the sales opportunities provided in order to assist your target achievement
• Work with the proposition heads to pro-actively identify and drive areas for strategic growth and success in order to drive opportunities
• Build strong and productive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business
• Consistently demonstrate a deep understanding of Broadstone products and services and how they compare against the market, positioning to best effect with prospects
• Take personal responsibility for ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements are met within the Business Development function
• Prepare proposals, presentations and be able to demonstrate the Broadstone technology solutions
• Increase personal knowledge and skills in order to develop technical and product knowledge
• Live the brand values and act as an ambassador for the business at all times

Technical Knowledge and Professional Qualifications
Key Skills
• Experience of the UK Employee benefits market and/or successful track record within B2B corporate environment, with particular experience in flexible benefits’ platforms and digital solutions for both employers and their employees
• Excellent selling and sales strategy skills, including the ability to identify and close opportunities
• Experienced in development, negotiation and administration of longer-term contacts.
• Skilled negotiator and builder of strong and successful business relationships
• Results-oriented achiever with a proven track record in building and driving the required sales results
• Engaging and adaptive style of presenting material up to Board level
• Ability to create an immediately credible impact both internally/externally, in line with brand values and demonstrating integrity at all times
• Creative problem solver who can identify and provide solutions to a customer’s needs
• Exceptionally self-driven, is able to work on own initiative and drive the elements required to deliver against the business plan
• Flexible with strong desire to be part of a challenging and change oriented environment
• Resilient and adaptable to the needs of the business, remaining composed in high pressure situations
• High levels of attention to detail are essential
• Good levels of understanding in respect to IT systems and Microsoft products
• Platform experience would be desirable
