I’m a Trustee Consultant. I get to work with a variety of colleagues on a bank of schemes, doing all types of tasks from paying invoices to setting up and attending meetings, member work, investments, working with the sponsoring employers and involved in several buy-in/buy-outs.
I have a goldfish called Brian. He was only named 13 years after getting him from a reputable pet shop. I’d never get one from a fair; There are far too many animal welfare issues to consider there.
Growing up, I wanted to be… taller. I still do in fact. I could have been an excellent chimney sweep (although my first job was as a motor insurance clerk).
Three people I would invite to dinner. An Englishman, Irishman and a Scotsman. Something funny always seems to happen when they are around…!
My first pensions role was in 1998. There was no such thing as Social Media then and email was relatively new – life was much simpler in those days.

I’m not really a foodie. Being a strict veggie, my takeaway options are often limited from such places to chips. I have Chinese maybe twice a year (vegetable Chow Mein as standard).
Being appreciated and thanked is important. Helping members and feeling like you make a difference, is a real motivation for me.
